About

Cherise is a multidisciplinary creative director and visual artist from South London, working across film, photography, art, fashion and product. Her practice is rooted in visual storytelling, culture and experimentation, spanning commercial campaigns, independent short films, brand worlds and conceptual projects.

Alongside client work, she runs Sekani, an ongoing art, fashion and homeware concept exploring form, identity and everyday objects. She has been creating for over 7 years, with nearly 4 years of freelance experience.

Her work has been exhibited at Southbank Centre, the V&A and London Design Festival, and she has collaborated with brands including Nike, Netflix, Apple, Jordan Brand, Clarks, Instagram, Size? and Offspring, as well as artists such as Erick the Architect, Frisco (BBK), Tay Iwar and Duckwrth.

Cherise’s personal work often explores themes of community, healing and representation, with a focus on Black identity and contemporary culture. Her short film Breathless, commissioned by Southbank Centre, told the story of Ella Kissi-Debrah and the impact of climate change on Black communities. More recently, FatherHOOD celebrates young Black fathers in London.

She is also an advocate for mental health, having been a Social Worker before pursuing her creative career. Access within the creative industry is significant, having run art therapy workshops with young people and opened her studio as a free space for emerging creatives.

At the core of her work is a desire to create emotionally resonant, culturally grounded stories, work that holds both beauty and truth.
